We have an AL West showdown tonight as the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels continue their three game series. Both teams come in playing well and they are neck and neck in the division standings. In their last series, the Rangers split a two game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. They will be looking to even up this current series after dropping the first game last night to the Angels. As for the Angels, they swept the St. Louis Cardinals in their last series and are looking like a real threat in the American League. This series should be a fun and entering one between two teams with lofty expectations that some something to prove to others. It may be early on in the year but grabbing division game can be huge. So every game matters and we should be in for another tough game between the two rivals.

What to Watch:
Within this game, the biggest question mark is going to be the play of Reid Detmers for the Angels. He has the tools to be a quality pitcher around the game but at times is prone to getting rocked. This Los Angeles team is relying on Detmers today to help get them the series win. As the game goes on, he should try and limit his pitch count and keep control of his command because Texas does have an offense that can score some runs in a hurry. If Detmers can put together a nice start today then the Angels offense should be able to carry the to the win.
As for the Rangers, they are throwing out Nathan Eovaldi in this game. He signed with the team over the offseason and has provided some real stability in their rotation. They will need him to shut down this hot Los Angeles offense today which is easier said than done. If he can get into a nice rhythm early on, it could be a good day for the team.
