Both the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners have started the season in ways that neither expected. They both are hovering around the .500 mark and need to pick things up quickly. In their last series, the Astros dropped two of three to the San Francisco Giants and will be looking to regain some momentum. As for the Mariners, they come in after sweeping the Oakland Athletics over a three game series. Seattle has won four straight games in total and are finally looking like the team that many thought they would be entering the season. With both teams not playing up to par to this point, this series could be huge. It should be entertaining to watch play out as the weekend goes on.

What to Watch:
Luis Castillo takes the mound for the Mariners tonight in a massive game between two AL West rivals. He has been great for Seattle since they acquired him last trade deadline and they will be relying on him tonight once again. His stuff on the mound is lights out and he is capable of shutting teams down on any given night. If he can produce like he has to start the season, Seattle has a great chance of coming away with the victory.
As for the Astros, they are sending out Christian Javier to the mound. He has been a bit inconsistent to start the new year but can match Castillo in terms of pitching any given night. If he can keep his pitch count down and limit any damage from this Seattle offense, he could come away with a strong outing.
