The Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals continue their four game series here today. The two teams split the first two games and both will be looking to grab control before the final outing tomorrow. Before the matchup against the Cubs, the Nationals dropped two of three to the Pittsburgh Pirates. It has been a slower start to the year for the Nationals but then again, not many expected them to be super competitive. They do fight however and are showing that they aren’t exactly pushovers. As for the Cubs, they were swept by the Miami Marlins in their previous series. Chicago needs to put together some consistent play if they want to make any sort of run towards a possible playoff spot.

What to Watch:
The key for this game will be the play of Marcus Stroman. He has been great for Chicago this season after an inconsistent year last season for them. Stroman is showing flashes of his former self when he was one of the better pitchers around the game. If he can limit the damage against this poor Nationals offense, then the game will likely be in the control of the Cubs.
However, he is prone to giving up hits so the Nationals will need to make sure to stay patient at the plate. If they can get his pitch count up, Stroman could falter. They will need to make sure to not allow him to get into a nice rhythm on the mound otherwise it will be curtains for them today.
