Both the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies entered the 2023 season with high expectations to win the World Series. Boston started off the season very slow but has since come on strong. They have won seven straight games entering today, including taking game one of the series last night by a score of 5-3. It was a nice start to open this three game series between the teams for Boston. As for the Phillies, they come into this game having lost five straight games overall. It hasn’t been a pretty last week for Philadelphia and they have dropped down in the standings because of it. As these teams get going tonight, we should expect another exciting matchup in this game.

What to Watch:

Boston throws out Corey Kluber tonight on the mound and the veteran right handed hasn’t exactly looked like himself of late. His days of dominating hitters is long gone but he still occasionally has some pop in his arm to really shut a team down. With the Phillies having lost so many games of late, I expect them to play with some sort of desperation here. They know that they can’t keep losing if they want to compete in their own division and the National League no less.

Philadelphia is going to need their star players to step up today and help get the win. Bryce Harper is back for the team so his presence alone in the lineup puts fear into an opposing pitcher. They need to get out to an early lead and get their crowd going to help get the win here.

Kluber throws a good game but the bullpen gives it away. Philadelphia takes the game in front of their home fans.
