Game three of the Eastern Conference Finals takes place tonight as the Carolina Hurricanes travel to Florida to take on the Panthers. Puck-drop between the two teams is all set for 8:00 p.m. EST from FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.
Carolina comes into this game after dropping the first two matchups in overtime at home. It was a surprise to see them drop both as the Hurricanes have been one of the better home teams around the NHL for the last few years. But now they must pivot and keep their season alive down in the sunshine state. The Hurricanes need to get back to the basics and letting their offense dictate things. The Panthers have done a good job at limiting their chances and it has resulted in limited success for the Hurricanes. If Carolina can force the offensive action and get out on the break, they could find more scoring chances today.
As for the Panthers, they have to be feeling good. The dream season continues for them and they are now just two wins from the Stanley Cup Finals. Hardly anyone picked them to make it this far in the postseason but they are a tight-knit group who believes in themselves. They just find ways to win hockey games and now have a chance to possibly advance in front of their home fans if they can take the next two games. It will be a battle of course but the Panthers have withstood a ton this postseason already. Their offensive attack has been awesome to watch and the defense has been good enough to get by. As they prepare for this game, the Panthers know they can’t let the Hurricanes back in the series so making sure that they come out strong early on, could be the difference in the game.

Give me the Panthers to keep things rolling here. They grab the early lead at home and they don’t look back.
