2023 College Football Conference Champion Predictions

By

Although college football is still months away, it’s still a good time to look ahead to see who will win the conferences in the upcoming season. Last week I gave my predictions on who would be in the conference championships but today we will be going over who will be crowned the champions of these divisions.

ACC: Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers have won seven of the past eight ACC championships and they look to continue their dominance this year. A lot of people may have Florida State taking this one but the Seminoles still have some work to do before they’re back to winning a conference championship. But the success of the Tigers rests with Cade Klubnik. The Clemson quarterback won the ACC championship game against North Carolina, but lost his last game in the Orange Bowl against the Tennessee Volunteers. This is going to be a big season to bounce back for Klubnik and the Tigers.

Big Ten: Ohio State Buckeyes

After winning four Big Ten championships in a row, the Buckeyes have taken the past two years off and Michigan has taken advantage of that, winning the Big Ten in 2021 and 2022. But this year will be a bounce back for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. The Big Ten East is going to be a very tough division, maybe even the toughest in college football. With a new quarterback for the Buckeyes they look to have a bounce back year and get back to Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship.

Big 12: Texas Longhorns

Is Texas finally back? With a full year of a healthy Quinn Ewers, they might just be. Even for a back-up they have a five star quarterback in Arch Manning. It has been 13 years since Texas has won the Big 12. The Longhorns just haven’t been able to get over that hill but this could finally be that year. The Longhorns were just a win away from going to the Big 12 championship last year but fell just short. Look for them to come back for revenge this year and not only get to the championship game, but win it as well.

Pac-12: USC Trojans

The Trojans had Heisman winner Caleb Williams last year and are blessed enough to get him for one more year in this upcoming season. It’s been five years since USC has won a Pac-12 championship but have been so close so many times. With Williams having a year under his belt he will take USC to the Pac-12 championship game with ease and win it once and for all.

SEC: Georgia Bulldogs

Now this isn’t a very bold prediction but it is the right one. The Volunteers could be a threat to the Bulldogs in the regular season but other than that the only team that is a real threat would be the Crimson Tide. Alabama will be looking to get back to the SEC championship game after a year off and hope to knock off the Georgia Bulldogs. But with the talent they already have, and the talent they’re reloading with, look for the Bulldogs to go back-to-back.
