The Philadelphia Flyers head to Dallas for a matchup with the Stars tonight from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Puck-drop between the two sides is all set for 8:30 p.m. EST.
The Flyers come into this game having lost four straight games overall. They have gone 5-3-2 over the last 10 games and while they have been eliminated from postseason contention, they can still build some momentum heading into the offseason. The offense has really hurt them this season, only averaging 2.69 goals per game. It is something that the franchise will look to address over the offseason because it’s not a sustainable winning formula. The defense has allowed 3.32 goals per game on average. As they take on the Stars tonight, it could be a long night facing up against a tough Dallas defense.
Dallas enters this game currently in a three game tie for first place of the Central Division. Every game and every point matters so making sure they can get the win against the lowly Flyers tonight could go a long way for the Stars. They have relied upon their strong defense all year long, only allowing 2.73 goals per game to opponents. That should bode well for them as they face a Flyers offensive attack that struggles to score goals. However, they can’t over look Philadelphia and will need to come out strong and earn the victory.
Prediction: Dallas Stars 4, Philadelphia Flyers 1
I like the Stars to grab two points here tonight as they get a massive win at home.
