Buffalo Sabres vs New York Rangers Game Preview and Prediction 4/10/2023

We have a battle for New York today as the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers face off tonight from Madison Square Garden. Puck-drop between the two teams is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.

The Sabres enter this game having gone 6-3-1 over their last 10 games overall, including winning two in a row. However, it’s may be a little too late for them as the playoffs are slipping away entering the final week. They need to win every game and have others lose if they want to find a way in. It’s not likely but they can control their own games at a minimum. Their offense has been great this season, averaging 3.59 goals per game. They will need another offensive explosion tonight if they want to take down the Rangers on the road.

As for the Rangers, they have clinched a playoff spot but are fighting for seeding. They have a very outside shot at the Metropolitan Division but it’s more likely they will be a wild card team. However, they can still get home ice in the first round if they keep winning and have the New Jersey Devils drop games. New York has been good on both sides of the ice this season, averaging 3.36 goals per game and only allowing 2.64 to opponents on average. The Rangers have gone 6-2-2 over their last 10 games so they will be looking to keep things going strong.

Game Prediction: New York Rangers 6, Buffalo Sabres 4

I like the Rangers to keep their winning ways going tonight as they grab two more big points to their total here.
