Brett Baty, Third Baseman/Outfielder, New York Mets
At just 23 years old, Baty has some serious potential. He spent some time in the big leagues last year, but he struggled. It was a very small sample size, though. That being said, the little time he did spend on the Mets’ big league roster should help him improve into the 2023 season. In three minor league seasons, Baty hit for a .289 average with 38 home runs and 149 runs batted in. He’s a very versatile player and should be an essential piece to the Mets lineup.
Corbin Carroll, Outfielder, Arizona Diamondbacks
Many consider Carroll to be the front-runner for the rookie of the year award. He also spent some time in the majors last season, which will only help him adjust in 2023. Last season in the minors, Carroll hit for a .307 average with 24 home runs and 62 runs batted in. He also has blazing speed as he stole 31 bases. At just 22 years old, Carroll is looking like a true superstar in the making.
Jordan Walker, Outfielder, St. Louis Cardinals
Walker is one of the most intriguing prospects we’ve seen in quite a while. He’s just 20 years old, and he’s been tearing up the minor leagues since he was drafted in 2020. In two minor league seasons, Walker is hitting .310 with 33 home runs and 116 runs batted in. He travels well too, as he stole 36 bases in those two seasons. He has looked good in spring training this year too, he’s hitting .367 with three home runs and an OPS over 1.000. He’s 6’5 and 220 pounds, and he reminds me a lot of Aaron Judge. Walker has a lethal power and speed combination, and Cardinals fans have to be pumped to see this guy play in 2023.
