The Seattle Kraken head to the American Airlines Center for a matchup with the Dallas Stars tonight. Puck-drop between the two Western Conference teams is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST.
The Stars come in still leading the Central Division but they do have the defending champion Colorado Avalanche right on their heels. They have gone 7-3 over their last 10 games and are having a really nice season. On defense this team is only allowing 2.73 goals per game. The defense has carried this team all season and is a main reason to their on ice success. However, the offense has started to catch up and is now up to the average of 3.43 goals per game. This team is loaded on both sides of the ice and is a tough matchup every night out.
After a really promising start, the Kraken still are holding onto a playoff spot. However. the optimism surrounding the team has fallen just a little. They currently sit in fourth place within the Pacific Division and have gone 6-3-1 over their last 10 games. Seattle is still a very good team but they were once locked in a battle for the top of the division and now sit in fourth place. They are averaging 3.48 goals per game on offense and are allowing 3.19 goals to opponents per game. Seattle will need to step up their game heavily tonight as they face a tough Dallas squad.
Prediction: Dallas Stars 4, Seattle Kraken 3
The Kraken have fallen off a little bit so I have the Stars taking this game at home. Give me Dallas to hold serve here.
