The Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks are ready for a Western Conference battle tonight from Rogers Arena. Puck-drop between the two sides is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. EST.
The Stars come into this game with a record of 37-17-13 and are riding a three game winning streak. Dallas has gone 7-2-1 over their last 10 games and are playing really strong hockey currently. They have been led by their defense all season long, only allowing 2.65 goals per game to opposing teams. It has been the strength of this team and is a major reason to them currently sitting in first place within the Central Division. However, the offense has been good as well, averaging 3.42 goals per game themselves. All in all, this is a good hockey club and one that will be a tough out come playoff time.
As for the Canucks, the opposite can be said. They hold a record of 28-32-5 on the season but have won four straight entering tonight. Over their last 10 games, they have gone 7-2-1 but it likely won’t be enough to reach the postseason. Vancouver had a period of time where they really struggled and it saw them drop far down in the standings. It put them in a tough hole to climb out of and they are dealing with that currently. On offense, they are averaging 3.34 goals and are giving up 3.82 to opposing teams. They will need a strong defensive performance tonight if they want to grab the win against Dallas.
Prediction: Dallas Stars 3, Vancouver Canucks 1
I like the Stars to be able to hold the Canucks in check tonight. And with that, I have them grabbing the road win.
