The Anaheim Ducks continue their road trip as they head to Calgary for a matchup with the Flames. Puck-drop between the two teams is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EST from the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Ducks come in having lost in overtime to the Vancouver Canucks last game out. They hold a record of 21-25-9 on the season and have gone 4-3-3 over their last 10 games. This was a team that hoped to make a possible playoff push when the season started but it quickly turned into a disaster of a year. Anaheim struggles to score the puck at a strong rate and they give up goals like no other. While they have played better recently, this is still a bad hockey team and one that is squarely looking ahead to the upcoming NHL Draft.
Calgary comes into this game with a record of 29-23-13 on the season and they have gone 4-4-2 over their last 10 games overall. It has been a bit of a struggle for the Flames all year long as they haven’t been able to muster up the same magic from last season. Calgary won a 1-0 shootout last time out against the Minnesota Wild and they will be looking to add to their winning streak against the lowly Ducks. Technically the Flames are still alive for a potential wild card spot but they will need almost everything to go their way in order to get into the postseason. Grabbing a win here tonight would be a great first step for them.
Prediction: Calgary Flames 4, Anaheim Ducks 2
Give me the Flames to get the win here tonight. They have been the better team and they hold serve at home.
