Two of the worst teams around the NHL are set to square off tonight as the Anaheim Ducks take on the Chicago Blackhawks. Puck-drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST from the United Center in Chicago.
The Ducks come into this game having lost in overtime last night to the Dallas Stars. They hold a record of 16-29-6 and have gone 4-4-2 over their last 10 games overall. This is a team that has struggled both on the offensive end and the defensive end but finds ways to compete every so many games. As a team, they are only averaging 2.4 goals per game and are giving up 4.1 goals per game on average to opposing teams. Against the Blackhawks tonight, it will be interesting to see how Anaheim match up with both teams being bad on offense.
As for the Blackhawks, they are averaging only 2.5 goals per game as a team. On defense, they are giving up 3.6 goals to opposing teams. Chicago holds a record of 15-29-4 but have gone 6-4 over their last 10 games overall. It hasn’t been the season that Chicago had hoped for and now they are looking to get into position for the first overall pick.
Prediction: Chicago Blackhawks 4, Anaheim Ducks 2
I like the Hawks to take this game tonight. Anaheim has struggled, even against bad teams this season, and I see that trend continuing here.
