The Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators are ready for a Central Division battle tonight from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Puck-drop between the two squads is all ready for 8 p.m. EST.
Winnipeg enters this matchup winners of seven of their last ten games overall. They hold a record of 31-16-1 and have been flip-flopping with the Dallas Stars for first place in the Central Division of late. Winnipeg is a very strong team and one that can do major damage on a nightly basis. They can be a bruising team and one that wears down opponents as the game goes on.
As for the Predators, they have fallen off a little bit lately. They are still alive in the wild card hunt at this time but have taken a step back. They hold a record of 22-18-6 overall. They are led by their strong goaltending and have been kept afloat by Juuse Saros. Saros has been electric this season and has made life tough on opponents. Combine that with an offense that can score in spurts and the Predators could be a tough out come playoff time, if they can make it.
Prediction: Winnipeg Jets 3, Nashville Predators 2 (OT)
I like the Jets to grab the victory but will do so in overtime. The Predators goaltending will help them grab a point but ultimately fall short of getting the win.
