How To Watch:
Date: Saturday, January 7th
Game Time: 8:30 pm EST
Venue: Chase Center, San Francisco, California
Record: Magic (14-25, 13th in the Eastern Conference), Warriors (20-19, sixth in the Western Conference)
Things To Know:
-In their only meeting of the season, November 3, the Magic won a thriller 130-129 that saw the Warriors blow a 12-point halftime lead. Jalen Suggs of the Magic stole the show with a clutch three-pointer and a steal to clinch the game.
-Both teams have been on a different trajectory since their first meeting. The Magic sit closer to the bottom of the league than to an entry into the post season tournament. The Warriors, meanwhile, are only six games back of the Western Conference leader, Denver Nuggets.
-Orlando, on the road, is 7-9-1 against the spread this season
-Golden State, at home, is 14-5-1 against the spread this season. This ranks second best in the NBA.
Why The Magic Can Win:
The Magic won the first matchup in November taking advantage of points off turnovers, winning that battle with 27 points on 14 turnovers. The Magic dominated the free throw line, converting 33-of-46, while the Warriors only hit the line 15 times (10 made). The Warriors will be without Stephen Curry (shoulder), James Wiseman (ankle), Jonathan Kuminga (foot), and JaMychal Green (leg).
Why The Warriors Can Win:
The Warriors maintain the best home record in the NBA with a 17-3 record. The Warriors should have the return of forward, Andrew Wiggins, to the line-up. Wiggins has been out with an illness since December 4. The Magic will be without Bol Bol (COVID-19 protocols).
