How To Watch:
Date: Wednesday, January 18th
Game Time: 10pm EST
Venue: Ball Arena, Denver, Colorado
Record: Timberwolves 22-23, Nuggets 31-13
Things To Know:
-The Nuggets are currently on a seven game win streak and currently rank as a top team in the Western Conference.
-The Timberwolves are coming off a one point loss to the Utah Jazz following a fourth quarter meltdown. They are still playing some of their best ball of the season, winning six of their last eight games.
-The Timberwolves won the last matchup earlier in the month against the Nuggets and have won each of their last four meetings.
Why The Timberwolves Can Win:
The Timberwolves are the Nuggets kryptonite. It doesn’t matter if they are home or away, the Nuggets seem to always have problems with Minnesota. They are hungry for wins as they are lingering near the bottom of the play-in scene, and beating out the teams high up in the conference standings can help propel them into a secure playoff spot. They definitely need to be hungry following their one point loss to the Jazz on Monday, which is a game they definitely wish they had back. Either way, Minnesota is in a prime spot against the Jazz who are having their own issues.
Why The Nuggets Can Win:
The Nuggets have been playing at the top of their game as they look to continue their win streak to eight. They have been playing at the top of their game all season, especially at home. The Nuggets are currently 20-3 at home, which is a huge upgrade over their road splits which is just a single game above .500 at 11-10. There are no adjustments they need to make in this game, as they need to just keep doing what they usually do in their home games and not let the adversity of their struggles against the Timberwolves get in the way of focusing on the win. They are on a back-to-back which should give the team centered around Nikola Jokic a tough time, but as the much better team in this matchup, they should still secure the win.
