The Los Angeles Kings travel east to take on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Puck-drop between the two sides is set for 7 p.m. EST.
Los Angeles enters this game with a record of 26-17-6. They currently sit in third place in the Pacific Division and have gone 5-5 over their last ten games. The Kings, despite their record, have a minus eight goal differential. It’s easily the worst among any teams that would qualify for the postseason at this time. They have a clear goaltending and defense issue that they need to address sooner rather than later. This is a physical team that likes to control the pace of a game but when you can’t stop opponents, it’s hard to do.
As for the Flyers, they have struggled this season. They are 20-21-7 on the year and currently sit towards the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Philadelphia had hoped for better results when the season kicked off but they find themselves in the middle of the pack around the league. They have work to do if they want to try and get a wild card spot this season.
Prediction: Los Angeles Kings 5, Philadelphia Flyers 3
I think the Kings can do just enough to earn another road win here. They are the better team and will be able to take care of the Flyers tonight.
