Washington Wizards vs Charlotte Hornets Game Preview 12/2/2022

We have an Eastern Conference showdown between the Washington Wizards and the Charlotte Hornets tonight. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7pm EST from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

Washington comes into this game with a record of 11-11 and have split their last ten contests. The Wizards haven’t shown a strong ability to win on the road this season, going 3-7 in the ten games so far. Luckily for them, the Hornets just haven’t been very good at all. They hold a record of 6-15 and are 3-6 on their home floor this season.

This game could be very high scoring with two teams that aren’t great defensively but can light up the scoreboard.

How Washington can win: The Wizards are a weird team because they have so much talent on the roster yet can’t seem to put it all together. Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porziņģis, and Kyle Kuzma make up a solid trio for this team. They can cause issues for opponents on defense with their scoring abiltiies.

Speaking of, Kuzma has seen a lot more consistently from his play this season. He has been on a tear, averaging 20.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. If he can give them another strong effort, it could prove to be another successful night for Washington.

How Charlotte can win: The Hornets are going to need a massive effort tonight if they want to take down the Wizards. Players such as LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward are out for this game so others will need to step up. Players such as Terry Rozier, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Mason Plumlee are going to be relied upon heavily in this game.

Charlotte has seen some success in the paint this season, scoring 54.1 points per game. They will need to dominate down low to win this game. If they can control the pace of play as well, they will have a shot.

Prediction: Washington Wizards 126, Charlotte Hornets 112

I like the Wizards to earn the win on this road tonight. They have been the more consistent team to date and I can’t trust the Hornets yet this season.
