Toronto begins a road trip, while St. Louis starts a homestand as the Leafs visit the Blues. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. EST.
The Maple Leafs hold a 21-7-6 record (48 points) and sit in second place in the Atlantic Division. William Nylander leads Toronto in scoring with an even 20 goals this season. Auston Matthews (17), John Tavares (14) and Mitch Marner (13) round out the top four. Marner leads the Leafs in points with 40, while the same three skaters round out the top four. Nylander and Matthews have tallied 39 points each, while Tavares has 31 points. Ilya Samsonov and Matt Murray have split time in net for the Leafs. Samsonov is 10-3-0 with a 2.07 goals against average and a .924 save percentage in 13 games, while Murray is 8-2-2 with a 2.34 GAA and a .925 SV% in 12 games.
St. Louis has been riding the line of mediocrity this season with a 16-16-2 record (34 points) and sit fifth in the Central Division. The Blues have been led offensively by Jordan Kyrou who has tallied 16 goals and 32 points to lead the team in both categories. Pavel Buchnevich (12) and Vladimir Tarasenko (10) are the only other double-digit goalscorers for the Blues. Robert Thomas is the only other St. Louis skater with more than 30 points. Jordan Binnington has notched a 12-11-2 record with a 3.14 GAA and an .896 SV% in 25 games this season.
Toronto and St. Louis split its two meetings last season, with the road team winning both games. While Binnington will be the projected starter for St. Louis, Toronto is yet to announce which goalie will start, as Samsonov and Murray have split starts this season.
