Wild at Los Angeles Kings Game Preview 11/08/2022

The Wild begin a road trip in Los Angeles against the homestanding Kings. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:38 p.m. EST.

Minnesota has played to an average 5-5-1 record in its first 11 games this season. To no one’s surprise, Kirill Kaprizov leads Minnesota in both goals and points with eight and 13. Mats Zuccarello and Matt Boldy are the only other Wild skaters with double digit points with 12 and 10. Marc-Andre Fleury hasn’t been the best to open the season, but he has been serviceable. Fleury is 5-2-1 with a 3.41 goals against average and an .888 save percentage in nine games. Minnesota is expected to get Jordan Greenway back tonight as he has missed all but one game this season due to a lower-body injury.

Los Angeles is also off to an average start. At 7-6-1, the Kings currently sit in third place in the Pacific Division with 15 points. Gabriel Vilardi leads LA in scoring thus far with nine goals. Vilardi is tied with Kevin Fiala for the team lead in points with 14. Johnathan Quick has been the Kings number one goaltender. In 10 games, the 36-year-old has a 4-4-1 record with a 3.34 GAA and a .890 SV%.

The Wild and Kings met three times last season with Minnesota taking two of three games. These two teams have also met once this season in Minnesota where the Kings came away with a 7-6 victory.  Tonight’s starting goaltenders are Fleury for Minnesota and Quick for Los Angeles.
