Vegas Golden Knights at Washington Capitals Game Preview 11/01/2022

Vegas starts a five-game road trip tonight in Washington against the Capitals. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 EST.

The Golden Knights have come out the gate scorching hot. Vegas is 8-2-0 in its first ten games and are currently the Western Conference’s top seed. Johnathan Marchessault leads the Knights in goals with five in his first 10 games. Jack Eichel has appeared to not miss a beat following his prolonged injury as he leads Vegas in points with 10. The Golden Knights have had 19 players tally at least one point so far this season. Logan Thompson and Adin Hill have been fantastic in net so far. The pair have a 1.69 and 1.72 goal against averages and a .943 and .940 save percentages respectively.

The Capitals have captured 11 points in its first 10 games and sit in fourth place in the competitive Metropolitan Division. To no one’s surprise, Alex Ovechkin leads Washington in scoring with five goals. The Washington captain also leads the team in points with eight. Conor Sheary, Dylan Strome and Nick Jensen all trail Ovechkin in points by one with seven each. Darcy Kueper has been good to start his Capital career as he’s notched a 4-3-1 record with a 2.39 GAA and .922 SV%.

While the Golden Knights took both games from Washington last season, the Caps won when it counted. Washington defeated Las Vegas in five games in the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals. Tonight’s starting goaltenders are projected to be Thompson for Vegas and Kuemper for Washington.
