Three Takeaways from the Cleveland Browns win vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

By

The Cleveland Browns held serve at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in arguably their best victory of the season. It was a come from behind win for the Browns but one that they badly needed to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. They held on for a win by the score of 23-17. Cleveland improved their record to 4-7 on the season and will be taking on the Houston Texans next week. Here are some key takeaways from the game as the team looks ahead to their next matchup.

Nick Chubb is the best running back in football

Chubb continued his incredible season Sunday against Tampa Bay, running for 116 yards and one score. He also added a 16-yard catch as well to the mix. Chubb couldn’t be stopped all day long and even against a stout Tampa Bay run defense, he prevailed. As long as Chubb is in the backfield for Cleveland, they will be a tough matchup for any opponent. He just changes the way the game is played and brings a strength element to this offense.

Amari Cooper coming into his own with Cleveland

Cooper is finally looking like the wide receiver that many believe he is. After a slow start to the year, he has really improved his play over the last few weeks. He added in seven catches for 94 yards in this game and was a force to be reckoned with. He has established a clear connection with quarterback Jacoby Brissett and will now look to create one with Deshaun Watson coming back into the fold next week.

Give Jacoby Brissett his flowers

While the Browns currently don’t have a winning record, Brissett has played his tall off all year long. He isn’t the greatest quarterback by any means but he fights and gives it his all. He deserved to go out with a win and helped keep this team afloat during this tough season.
