Some teams have continued their dominance, while others are truly making a name for themselves. Here are week 10’s most dominant performances from each statistical category, along with the season leaders for each.
Rushing
Week 10 – Chicago Bears
This season – Chicago Bears
This season the Chicago Bears have consistently been the leader in this category for each week, in turn giving them the best on the season. This week was no different with another dominant rushing performance out of quarterback Justin Fields. In week 10, the Bears had the most rushing yards with 258, which helped them in having the most yards per rush attempt this week at 7.4. On the season they rank first in both categories as well, with 5.6 yards per attempt, good for 201.7 rushing yards per game.
Passing
Week 10 – Kansas City Chiefs
This season – Kansas City Chiefs
Although the Dolphins passing game seems to rival Kansas City more than anyone else, the Chiefs are taking not only the week ten crown in passing but also on the season. In week 10, the Chiefs had the second most passing yards with 331, only behind the Vikings. The Chiefs did, however, average a higher yards per pass attempt than Minnesota at 9.5 yards. On the season, though, the Chiefs average the most passing yards per game at 313.9. This also puts them in a tie for third in yards per pass attempt at 8.0 on the season.
Rush Defense
Week 10 – Pittsburgh Steelers
This season – San Francisco 49ers
The Steelers shut down the Saints running game in week 10. Pittsburgh this week gave up only 29 yards on the ground, which was the best in the league. In turn, they also gave up the least yards per rush attempt, allowing a league best 1.9 yards per rush attempt to the Saints. On the season, we yet again see the return of the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers give up the least yards per rush attempt at 3.4 yards per attempt throughout the entire league. They also give up the least rushing yards per game to their opponents, allowing just 82.7.
Pass Defense
Week 10 – Carolina Panthers
This season – Denver Broncos
The Carolina Panthers were able to mostly shut down Atlanta’s passing attack on Thursday Night Football. The Panthers were able to only give up 153 yards passing, and 5.1 yards per pass attempt, which is tied for first. Nothing has changed for the Denver Broncos despite their loss, as they remain the most dominant pass defense in the NFL. The Broncos defense still gives up the least passing yards per game at 174.4, and are also tied for first in opponents yards per pass attempt at 4.9.
Takeaways
Week 10 – Minnesota Vikings & Washington Commanders
This season – Philadelphia Eagles
The Minnesota Vikings were told that they didn’t have a quality win on their resume, and took that to heart as they traveled to Buffalo to take on the Super Bowl favorites. In this game, the Minnesota Vikings were able to account for four turnovers, which was the best in the league along with Washington. The Commanders four turnover game also helped them upset the undefeated Eagles. As has been the same for a while now, the Philadelphia Eagles still sit at first in the category as they average the most takeaways per game this season.
