Takeaways from New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Game

By

The Giants and Cowboys met for a thanksgiving showdown and it was the Cowboys who got the best of the G-men to put them in second place in the NFC East behind the Eagles. For a moment, it looked like the Giants could upset the Cowboys but a second half resurgence from Dallas, outscoring New York 21-7 put the game in the Cowboys favor. So what were the most surprising and best outcomes of the game? Here are my three takeaways

Dallas will be a Super Bowl contender with OBJ

The Dallas Cowboys offense is already electric but adding Odell Beckham Jr., which many players are trying to make the Dallas front office do, will make them a legitimate contender. Adding OBJ with CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Zeke and Pollard will be a scary offense, that is if Odell is healthy. This team also has a great defense and it showed today getting after Daniel Jones sacking him three times. Watch out for Dallas the rest of the way, especially if they land Odell Beckham Jr.

Giants showed what kind of team they really are

Finally playing a good, quality team, the New York Giants showed who they really are, an almost average team. This Giants team has so many holes on both offense and defense with so many injuries on both sides of the ball. This Giants offense has not even cracked 30 points yet this season. These final seven games the Giants are playing will show what kind of team they really are with them having the hardest remaining schedule in the league. It will be very hard to win the rest of the way with all the injuries they have suffered from Wan’Dale Robinson to both of their starting corners and the team not really having a number one or number two receiver. This game and last weeks’ loss to the Detroit Lions proved they are not as good as their record indicates.

CeeDee Lamb is a top receiver:

CeeDee Lamb proved on Thursday that he’s a top receiver in the league. All of the amazing plays and one hand catches he hauled in proves that he’s a true number one receiver in the NFL. Lamb caught six balls for 125 yards and made two almost impossible catches along the way too. Lamb will be key for the Cowboys if they hope to make a big postseason push.
