San Jose Sharks @ Seattle Kraken Game Preview 11/23/2022

By

The San Jose Sharks travel to Climate Pledge Arena to take on the Seattle Kraken in a battle of Pacific Division teams. Puck drop is scheduled for 10pm EST.

The Sharks come into this game with a record 7-11-3 while the Kraken have surprised some and sit with a 10-5-3 record currently. The Kraken have won six of their last eight games and will look to keep the winning going tonight against San Jose.

The Sharks are averaging 2.8 goals per game and are scoring on 19.2 percent of their power play opportunities. The Sharks will lean on star Erik Karlsson in this matchup as he leads the team with 11 goals on the season. Defensively, the Sharks are allowing 3.4 goals per game so they’ll need the defense to step up.

Seattle enters this game averaging 3.2 goals per game and are scoring 22 percent of their power play opportunities. Jared McCann leads the team with seven goals and has been a spark for this team. Seattle has been a surprise this season and are playing really good hockey of late.

These two teams know each other well and a divisional game like this is always a fun game. Both teams are trying to fight for position within the division so I expect this game to be a little chippy tonight.

Prediction: Seattle Kraken 3, San Jose Sharks 2

I think this game will be a little lower scoring and the lack of defense for the Sharks will cost them. Seattle is the better team and will grab another well earned victory.
