Check out our NFL analysts’ bold predictions for Week 12 of the NFL season.
Chicago Bears Upset the New York Jets
This game is marked on Justin Fields’ calendar due to New York selecting Zach Wilson over him. Fields has proven that he has the ability to put pressure on defenses in a variety of ways. Chicago’s 3-8 record is deceiving as they have been competitive in the majority of their games. The biggest news about this game is the controversy coming out of New York. Wilson has been benched as his teammates have expressed their displeasure with the second year signal caller’s lack of leadership and accountability. Mike White will be forced to throw the ball to keep up with Chicago late in the game, which will create a pivotal turnover. The Bears will beat the Jets by three in a low scoring contest.
Joe Burrow Throws for Four Touchdowns vs Titans
The Tennessee Titans have the 30th ranked passing defense in the NFL as they have struggled to stop the pass. Joe Burrow has played lights out this season, so Cincinnati will throw the ball early and often even with Ja’Marr Chase being out another week. Zac Taylor will incorporate screen passes and running back draws to slow down Tennessee’s pass rush. When Burrow has time to go through his progressions, he’s been an All-Pro caliber quarterback. Samaje Perine will be efficient in the running game, but will reach the endzone on a check down pass from burrow. Last week seven players had a reception for the Bengals, so Burrow is beginning to find the open receiver on each play. The Bengals quarterback will throw all over Tennessee today.
The New Orleans Saints Will Beat The San Francisco 49ers
The New Orleans Saints face the San Francisco 49ers in what I think will be another Taysom Hill game for the ages. The 49ers have an incredibly strong defense that refuses to let up easy plays in their system.
The only way the Saints can win is by switching it up with Taysom Hill. The 49ers rushing defense ranks near the top of the league in almost every statistic which will inhibit Alvin Kamara. However, throwing in Taysom Hill to change the pace of the game and make the Saints offense more efficient will be the key to their success here. You don’t beat a team led by Andy Dalton and the Saints need to utilize unconventional pieces of talent to get the win.
The Green Bay Packers Will Beat The Philadelphia Eagles
This is the third straight time I am picking against the Philadelphia Eagles and what other way to do it with none other than the Green Bay Packers. The Packers enter Sunday coming off a loss against the Titans bringing them to a 4-7 record. This also means that one more loss, and the Packers are practically eliminated from playoff contention. With a tough road ahead, a win against the eagles can cement some hope for meaningful January football in Green Bay. While unlikely with the win, the Packers should have all the motivation in the world to bring everything they got to Philadelphia.
The Eagles have looked suspect of late. After their first loss against the Washington Commanders, they followed it up by squeaking by the Indianapolis Colts with a one point win off of a late touchdown. This is another prove it game for Jalen Hurts and we’ll see if he succeeds.
Seahawks Put Up 40 on Raiders
Another week, another Seattle bold prediction for me, this time coming off the Seahawks bye week. Geno Smith has been balling out this season and they’re facing the 31st ranked pass defense in the league. A rested Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf should combine for a performance to shred any Raiders hopes this season. Expect Kenneth Walker to get a healthy dose of the short passing game, as the team hopes to tap more into that element of his game as each week passes.
Colts Blowout Steelers
With how the Colts have been playing recently, I’m no longer sure if we can call this a bold prediction. Nonetheless, I see Indianapolis blowing out the Steelers on Monday night. Jeff Saturday, regardless of his criticisms, has led this team to a win against the Raiders in his first game, and a near shocking upset against the Eagles. Matt Ryan and the Colts defense will show up to play, and I anticipate them winning by three scores or more.
