Minnesota Wild @ Anaheim Ducks Game Preview 11/9/2022

The Minnesota Wild continue their west coast trip, this time facing off against the young Anaheim Ducks from Honda Center. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7pm PST.

Minnesota is coming off a tough loss to the Los Angeles Kings last night by a score of 1-0 and would love to get things back in the right direction. They sit with a record of 5-6-1 on the year, towards the bottom of the Central Division.

Anaheim has a record of 4-8-1 and are still looking for their first regulation win. All wins have come in overtime or in the shootout for the Ducks. They would love to give the home crowd a nice reward here tonight but they face a tough test in the Wild.

The Wild are averaging 3.09 goals per game and are scoring on 26.3 percent of power play chances. They’ll need to keep that up and against a poor Ducks defense, should have plenty of chances to score the puck.

The Ducks have struggled at times on offense once again this season, averaging only 2.85 goals per game. Their defense has been awful and that is being kind. They are allowing 4.62 goals per game. If they want to beat Minnesota, they’ll need a better effort from that end of the ice.

Backup goaltender Filip Gustavsson is likely to go for Minnesota while John Gibson gets the call in net for Anaheim.

Prediction: Anaheim 3, Wild 2

It’s about time for the Ducks to get a regulation win and it finally happens here tonight.
