Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks Game Preview 11/15/2022

The Los Angeles Clippers travel to Texas for a showdown with the Dallas Mavericks from American Airlines Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30pm EST.

The Clippers are on the second leg of a back-to-back and have won three of their last four games overall. They currently 8-6 on the year and are sitting in the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings.

The Mavericks enter with a record of 7-5 and are currently in the sixth spot out West. This has the feel of a fun game between two good teams and ones that know each other well from their previous playoff matchups.

How Los Angeles can win: Paul George has been a on tear of late, scoring at least 22 points in seven of the past eight games. The Clippers are 6-2 over that time period and are playing much better basketball. He is averaging 24.5 points and 6.1 rebounds on the season and has had to carry the load with Kawhi Leonard out.

This Clippers team can be extrememly dangerous as they have a ton of wing players who can defend and score the ball at a high level. Going against a team like Dallas that is very dependent on one player, the Clippers can try and force others to make shots.

How Dallas can win: Dallas comes in with one goal in mind and that is to get the ball into Luka Donic’s hands. Doncic is making his claim for the best player in the league so far this season. He is averaging 34.3 points, 8.1 assists, and 8.7 rebounds a game. He is the clear frontrunner for the MVP award currently and is showing no signs of slowing down.

As a team, they are averaging 110.5 points a game but it’s the defense that has helped them thrive. They will need it to be big again going up against the Clippers tonight.

Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers 113, Dallas Mavericks 110

I think that the Clippers, even on a back-to-back, do just enough to pull out the victory.
