The defending champion Golden State Warriors head to Arizona for a matchup with the Phoenix Suns tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm EST from the Footprint Center.
The two teams come in on opposite side of the standings as the Warriors sit at 6-8 while the Suns are 8-5 on the early season.
Phoenix and Golden State met once earlier this season already with the Suns blowing out the Warriors by a score of 134-105. It was a lopsided affair for Phoenix and they will look to take the second of the season matchups tonight.
How Golden State can win: Golden State has struggled defensively this season so far and will be challenged tonight going up against the explosve Suns offense, They will need to make sure they communicate and switch on rotations to try and exploit the Suns gameplan. Phoenix loves to use screens and sets to get their guys open so the Warriors will need to be fully aware at all times.
Guard Steph Curry has been the guy that we all know he is again this year, averaging 31.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game. He is simply incredible to watch and makes life so tough on opposing defenses. The team is going to need another classic Curry game to take down the Suns tonight.
How Phoenix can win: Contain Steph Curry
It’s as simple as that but so much easier said than done. If the Suns can lock on Curry and force others to beat them, they will put themselves in a good spot to win. Other Warriors role players haven’t played extremely well this season so it could be a decent gameplan.
Guard Devin Booker has averaged 26.5 points and 5.5 assists per game this season. He will give the Warriors fits and is lethal in the half court offense.
Prediction: Golden State Warriors 115, Phoenix Suns 108
I like Golden State to take the win on the road tonight. They were embarrassed in the first matchup between these teams and will want some revenge tonight.
