Notre Dame won’t make the Playoff but they can spoil their rival USC’s plans if they can take them down next week. It’s a huge game for Marcus Freeman and company. It could put a nice stamp on this season if they beat the Trojans.

A rough weekend for the Volunteers. Their Playoff hopes come crashing down and Hendon Hooker tore his ACL. We all hope for a speedy recovery for him but the Volunteers season is done.

It will likely take a significant amount of chaos ahead of them, but the Tigers are quietly sitting at 10-1. Assuming they win their final two games, Clemson is a team that could have a valid playoff case.

6. LSU Tigers

LSU is another team that could play spoiler in the weeks ahead. The Tigers have already locked up a spot in the SEC Championship game and will get their crack at the top ranked Georgia Bulldogs. It will be interesting to see how the committee handles them as a two-loss team, should they win, as no two-loss team has ever made the field of four.

5. USC Trojans

While the entirety of the top four had tight contests against lesser opponents, USC put on a show against UCLA. Caleb Williams gained a signature win on his road to a potential Heisman Trophy. USC just has to handle business next week, and they will be in a prime position to make the College Football Playoff.
