College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings: Week 11

By ,

25. Kansas State Wildcats
24. Florida State Seminoles
23. Washington Huskies
22. Illinois Fighting Illini
21. UCF Knights
20. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Props to Marcus Freeman for righting the ship in an unbelievable way. They absolutely hammered Clemson by a score of 35-14 and at times, it didn’t even feel that close. The Irish are finally playing good football and have built great momentum as they head towards 2023.

19. NC State Wolfpack
18. Texas Longhorns
17. Liberty Flames

Liberty went into Arkansas and took down the SEC school on the road. What a victory for this program as they continue to rise in the rankings!

16. Tulane Green Wave
15. North Carolina Tar Heels
14. Penn State Nittany Lions
13. Utah Utes
12. Alabama Crimson Tide

This is not the same Alabama team that went to the title game last season. They struggle at times to move the ball and need Bryce Young to bail them out. He does so normally but this time their defense let them down. They likely won’t make any sort of playoff run but can still have a good season even if it doesn’t live up to the standards set here.

11. Ole Miss Rebels
10. Clemson Tigers

Clemson has major issues on offense right now. DJ Uiagalelei just does not have it. They have to try out freshman Cade Klubnik and see what he has before the sputtering offense led by Uiagalelei costs them another game.

9. USC Trojans

The offense for USC continues to roll however the defense is a major problem and will likely keep this team from reaching its true potential. Their win against California was much closer than it needed to be. Battles with UCLA and Notre Dame loom for this program and could make or break their season.

8. UCLA Bruins
7. LSU Tigers

Geaux Tigers! The Tigers were able to cap off a signature win over Nick Saban and Alabama on Saturday night on a two-point conversion in overtime. They may not be in the hunt for a playoff spot this season, but the strides that they have taken in Brian Kelly’s first season in Baton Rouge is staggering. They will likely represent the SEC West in the SEC title game.

6. Oregon Ducks
5. Tennessee Volunteers
4. TCU Horned Frogs

Is this the season that TCU makes the College Football Playoff? It very well could be. This is a very talented team and one that is making some real noise this year.

3. Ohio State Buckeyes
2. Michigan Wolverines
1. Georgia Bulldogs

What a win for the Georgia Bulldogs. They thoroughly dominated the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. The defense was swarming all day long. Hendon Hooker was trapped in the pocket and was sacked six times. The most impressive things about the Dawgs might have been Stetson Bennett and the swagger he played with. Georgia, as of right now, is clearly the best team in the country.
