Boston Bruins vs Pittsburgh Penguins Game Preview 11/1/2022

The Rundown:

The league’s best team, Boston Bruins, take a trip to the Steel City for a heavyweight matchup. The Bruins look to continue to extend their red hot record, as they face the Pittsburgh Penguins. Two teams filled with super star talent, this is the game to watch tonight if there was even a debate.

The Matchup

The Bruins head into Pittsburgh with an 8-1 record as the best record in the NHL right now. Meanwhile, the Penguins are a middling 4-4-1. Last season, the Bruins went 1-2 against the Penguins. They were out scored 9-4 through all three games. The Bruins look to take charge this season with their defensive presence. Boston has an elite penalty kill, sitting at 93.9% while also being the 6th best team in goals against. So Boston makes it tough on any team to try and score against them. These two teams always put on an excellent spectacle on the ice for all who watch. Two teams with great cores that have championship pedigrees. What more could anyone ask for?

Players To Watch

For the Bruins, David Pastrňak is the player to watch. Pastrňak has taken the league by storm. Currently sitting at second in the league in scoring with 17 points, he has been the major offensive engine for the Bruins. Seven goals and 10 assists through nine games is insane, and to start so red hot this early could put him in contention for the Art Ross if he continues at this pace. A threat to score every night, Pasta is every team’s worst nightmare to face.

For the Penguins, it’s without a doubt Sidney Crosby. At 35, Crosby has aged just like fine wine. Being able to play and produce at an elite level is hard to fathom. The generational phenom continues to persist and play some of his best hockey. Even if his team isn’t as good as those he was on when they won championships, Sid the Kid contributes in and out on a nightly basis.
