Atlanta Hawks @ Philadelphia 76ers Game Preview 11/28/2022

The Atlanta Hawks travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers at 7:10 p.m. EST at Wells Fargo Center.

The Hawks are coming off back-to-back losses against teams below .500 as well as losing three of their last four. The Hawks’ biggest struggle has been on defense so far, as they allow 114.3 points per game. They need to get their defense right if they have any chance in Philadelphia.

The 76ers have played well as of late, despite key injuries that you’d think would hurt them more than what we see on the court. They have won three of their last four games without Joel Embiid in the lineup, including back-to-back dominant wins in Orlando. Despite this feat, the three teams that Philadelphia played during that span had a combined record at the time of 18-39.

How The Atlanta Hawks Can Win:

This will be a tough game for Atlanta with or without Embiid in the lineup. The 76ers allow the fewest number of points in the league, and while Embiid being out does give them some extra room to score, they have still allowed under 104 points per game in their last four games with him absent. They need to keep up their scoring against this dominant defense.

How The 76ers Can Win:

The 76ers need Joel Embiid in their lineup. I don’t really care about their streak without him in the lineup. I cannot get behind the 76ers beating the Hawks without him. The Hawks are a different beast compared to the other teams they have faced without Embiid. I understand that the Hawks are falling a bit with their latest losses, but they are not nearly on par with teams like the Orlando Magic.

Prediction: Atlanta Hawks 122, Philadelphia 76ers 109

I think the Hawks take care of business today and dominate in Philadelphia. I expect Embiid to sit out in this one, which will be key for the Hawks’ success.
