The Jets head to Texas to play the Stars in a battle of early undefeated teams. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:38 p.m. EST.

The Jets have only played one game so far this season, but it was an impressive win. Winnipeg defeated the New York Rangers 4-1 in its opening game. Mark Scheifele led the way with two goals, while Nikolaj Ehlers tallied a pair of assists. Connor Hellebuyck tallied an impressive 40 saves on 41 shot attempts in the win.

The Stars opened the year with a home-and-home with the Nashville Predators. Dallas swept the Preds winning 4-1 and 5-1 in two impressive games. Mason Marchment made his presence known early as he has tallied three goals in his first two games. Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson have tallied four points each in Dallas’ first two games. Jake Oettinger stopped 31 and 29 shots respectively while only allowing one goal in each of his first two games.

These teams met four times last season with all four meetings reaching overtime. Dallas would win three of these games taking seven of eight possible points, while the Jets walked away with five of eight points. The expected goaltender matchup tonight is Hellebuyck vs Oettinger.
