The Jets travel to Denver tonight for a date with the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 EST. 

Colorado is off to a strong 2-1-0 start with its most recent victory coming in Minnesota against a good Wild team. Valeri Nichushkin leads the Avs in goals with four and has tallied six total points so far this season. Superstar Nathan MacKinnon leads Colorado in points with seven and is follow closely by Nichushkin and Mikko Rantanen. Although it is early, Alexander Georgiev has been the much better goaltender between him and Pavel Francouz. It was also announced today that top-line forward Gabriel Landeskog had surgery on his knew yesterday and is expected to miss around 12 weeks.

The Jets followed an impressive 4-1 win over the Rangers in its opener with a less than impressive 4-1 loss in Dallas on Monday. Mark Scheifele has the early team lead in goals with three, while he is tied with Nikolaj Ehlers for the lead in points with the same number. Perenial Vezina Trophy finalist Connor Hellebuyck has started both games for Winnipeg thus far and has allowed five total goal in the first six periods of his season. He still is maintaing a solid save percentage of .929 in the early going.

The Avalanche won three of its four matchups against the Jets last season taking six of eight possible points. Winnipeg scratched out a win and an OT loss last season and tallied three of eight points. The expected starters are Georgiev for Colorado and Hellebuyck for the Jets.
