Week Ten College Football Top 25 Rankings

Week Ten College Football Top 25 Rankings

By ,

25. Texas Longhorns
24. Oregon State Beavers

Oregon State is ranked for the first time since 2013, snapping the second longest active streak without being ranked. They have quietly put together a really nice season in Corvallis. Their only two losses have been to USC and Utah, two top 15 teams.

23. NC State Wolfpack
22. Wake Forest Demon Deacons
21. Liberty Flames
20. Tulane Green Wave
19. Syracuse Orange
18. Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Cowboys got embarrassed on Saturday. Nothing went right for them and their dream of getting to the playoff is all but over. They can still have a good season but their big goals have vanished.

17. Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State held it’s own against Ohio State but just couldn’t take down the Buckeyes. It still was an impressive game despite the loss. This is a good football team that falls just shy of the championship contender category.

16. Illinois Fighting Illini
15. North Carolina Tar Heels
14. LSU Tigers
13. Utah Utes
12. Kansas State Wildcats

Oh my. Kansas State delivered an absolute beatdown on Saturday when they beat the then ninth ranked Cowboys of Oklahoma State by a score of 48-0. The game was never competitive. Backup quarterback Will Howard started the game and threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns. They have a big time game against Texas this week. The Wildcats are squarely in the mix for the Big-12 crown.

11. Ole Miss Rebels
10. UCLA Bruins
9. USC Trojans
8. Oregon Ducks

The beat rolls on for the Ducks. After getting throttled in week one by Georgia, Oregon is undefeated and for the most part, they have looked phenomenal. Quarterback Bo Nix is having his best season by a country mile and has accounted for 33 touchdowns. They may face a tough road to the College Football Playoff, but Oregon could be someone that nobody wants to see in the CFP.

7. TCU Horned Frogs

TCU just keeps winning and climbing the boards quieting. The Horned Frogs are the leaders in the Big-12 and have everything going their way right now. They don’t have a ranked team (at the moment) on their schedule the rest of the way and are in a great spot for a potential playoff run.

6. Alabama Crimson Tide

It’s kind of weird to see Alabama this low in the rankings but that’s just the reality of college football this year. With many other good teams, the Crimson Tide find themselves lower than usual. They have a matchup in Death Valley this week with LSU and a win there, could help them jump back in the rankings.

5. Clemson Tigers
4. Michigan Wolverines
3. Georgia Bulldogs
2. Ohio State Buckeyes
1. Tennessee Volunteers

There is a new number one team in the TWSN Top 25. The Tennessee Volunteers beat the life out of Kentucky on Saturday night by a score of 44-6. They have one of the most dominant offenses in college football and their defense is stout when it needs to be. A massive showdown this week against Georgia is possibly the final hurdle between Tennessee and a spot in not only the SEC Championship game, but the College Football Playoff.
