For the first time this season, Russell Wilson and the Broncos offense looked decent. While they couldn’t pull out the win against Las Vegas, it was a good start for this team. It has been a struggle offensively for Denver and they finally look like they are getting more comfortable. Now they get a chance to go against the Colts on Thursday Night Football.
Indianapolis has been one of the biggest disappointments so far this season. They tied with the Houston Texans then lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first two weeks. They then beat the Kansas City Chiefs but fell flat against the Tennessee Titans this past weekend. Needless to say, this may be a must win for a Colts team that had big goals heading into the season.
The team brought in Matt Ryan over the offseason, and it has been a tough start for the veteran quarterback. Heading into this game against a strong Denver defense, the Colts will need their running game to pick it up. Jonathan Taylor is one of the best running backs in the league and he needs to show up in this matchup. Without him, the Colts have no chance of going into Mile High and coming out with a win.
For Denver, they need to continue the progress made on the offensive side of the ball and keep up the strong work defensively. Getting pressure on Matt Ryan will be key to throw him off the game and potentially create turnovers.
The Broncos offense also needs to get the running game going. It has been a struggle for this team and going against the Colts, if they can get that going, it could open up their passing offense.
Under the bright lights of this primetime game, I think the edge goes to the home team. Russell Wilson found some success this past weekend and will look to improve on that. Give me the Broncos to come out on top and get their third victory of the season.
