The Capitals head to Dallas, Texas to take on the Stars. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:38 p.m. EST.

Washington has won four of its last five games, after dropping the first two of its season. This will be the second of a four-game road trip for the Capitals after winning in New Jersey Monday. Washington is led in scoring by Conor Sheary with four goals in his first seven games. Alex Ovechkin, John Carlson and Dylan Strome are all tied for the team lead in points with six each. Darcy Kuemper is off to a mediocre start to his first season in the nation’s capital as he has notched a 3-2-0 record with a 3.04 goals against average and .899 save percentage.

Dallas started the season winning three straight before dropping three of four on a northeastern road trip. The Stars are led in goals by veteran Joe Pavelski with four in seven games. Pavelski is joined by Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz for the team lead in points with seven each. Jake Ottinger has lived up to his lofty expectations and then some thus far. The 23-year-old is 4-1-0 with a 1.41 GAA and a .953 SV% this season.

Washington and Dallas split last season’s series with the road team winning both games. The projected starting goaltenders for tonight’s game are Kuemper for Washington and Oettinger for Dallas.
