Vegas Golden Knights vs Calgary Flames Game Preview 10/18/2022

By

The Golden Knights head north to Calgary tonight for a battle of two undefeated teams. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:00 EST at the Saddle Dome.

Vegas is off to a flying 3-0-0 start after defeating the Kings, Blackhawks and Kraken. Johnathan Marchessault leads Vegas in goals with three in as many games played. Marchessault is joined by Jack Eichel, Alex Pietrangelo and Chandler Stephenson who all have three points so far this season. This has been a very balanced Golden Knights attack in the early going. Goaltenders Logan Thompson and Adin Hill have both been solid in their starts this season.

The Flames have two good wins in its first two games. Calgary defeated both Colorado and Edmonton to get to 2-0-0. The Flames have had nine different players score goals thus far. Michael Stone and Nazem Kadri led the Flames in points with three (1-2-3). Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar have both done enough in their first two starts making timely saves to keep the Flames on top.

Vegas and Calgary met three times last season where Vegas took two of three games and four of six points. Even with Vegas winning two of the three matchups, the goal differential in the season series was even. The projected starting goaltenders for tonight are Thompson for Vegas and Markstrom for Calgary.
