Three Overrated NBA Teams Entering The 2022 Season

The NBA season is almost upon us! That means it’s time for exciting moments and possibly records to be broken throughout the year. With the season starting so soon, it’s time for predictions. Every season some teams overperform and some underperform. Here are three teams that are a tad overrated as we enter the NBA season:

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls were so good to start the season last year. Injuries took hold of them, and they never could recover the same magic. They made the playoffs but got run off the court by the Bucks. Now they are still dealing with some injuries that plagued them last season. This is a close unit but one that lacks the ability to stay with the elites of the Eastern Conference. This showed all last season, and it will once again. Chicago will be a playoff team, but their ceiling is likely a first-round exit. The Eastern Conference is stacked, and the Bulls seem to be getting left behind.

Dallas Mavericks

How can a team that has Luka Doncic on it be overrated? Because there simply aren’t many other players on the roster than can consistently score the ball. This team is going to heavily rely on Doncic and for good measure as he is one of the best the game has to offer. However, the loss of guard Jalen Brunson isn’t being talked about enough. He was the secondary scorer for this team and now he’s in New York. They brought in some centers to add some rim protection and scoring down low but it likely won’t make that much of a difference. This team thrived off defense and shooting last season and they could do it again, but I think it’ll be much tougher. Doncic is good enough to keep them alive and get them into the playoffs but I’m lower on this team than many others.

Los Angeles Lakers

Can you overrate a team that missed the postseason last year? I’m not sure but let’s pump the breaks on any hype surrounding the Lakers this season until they go out and prove they deserve it. Any team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis has a chance but the way that the roster is constructed is bad. There is a clear lack of shooting and wing depth that will hamper this team down the line. Health is also a concern as both stars have missed a ton of time lately due to injury. Los Angeles may be a little better than last season if health goes their way but that isn’t saying much.
