St. Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken Game Preview 10/19/2022

By

The Blues head West to Climate Pledge Arena to take on the Kraken with puck drop scheduled for 10:08 p.m. EST.

St. Louis is the only team in the NHL to have only played one game so far this season. The Blues won its opener at home 5-2 over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Vladimir Tarasenko tallied two goals in the team’s opening-night win. Tarasenko is joined by Pavel Buchnevich and Brayden Schenn as the three Blues players who had two-point games last Saturday. Jordan Binnington stopped 23 of 25 shots against Columbus.

The Kraken have already played four games this season. Seattle split its first two contests in Southern California before dropping its last two game at home to good teams. Andre Burakovsky and Jaden Schwartz are tied for the team lead in goal with two, while Burakovsky leads Seattle in points with five. Goaltenders Martin Jones and Philipp Grubauer haven’t had the best starts to their season as they have a 3.60 and 4.26 goals against average respectively.

St. Louis dominated the season series last year winning all three games in regulation and capturing all six points. Seattle is looking for its first win against the Blues in its franchise history. The projected goaltenders are Binnington for St. Louis and Jones for Seattle.
