The NHL has released their new line of Adidas “Reverse Retro” jerseys for this new season. These give each team a fresh look while allowing some nostalgia to kick in as well. It’s a cool concept for fans and players alike. Some were very aesthetically pleasing while others failed to live up to expectations. Here are the top five best and worst “Reverse Retro” jerseys.
People always say to start out with bad news first so that is exactly what I will do.
Top five worst “Reverse Retro” jerseys:
5. St. Louis Blues
1966 meets 2022 💛

This one isn’t awful but I feel it has too much lettering on the front. The Blues had the logo and colors to do better and didn’t.
4. Carolina Hurricanes
2019 ➡️ 2022 😅 #ReverseRetro

Again this one isn’t even bad, but it feels all too familiar. I swear they have worn these before. Minor tweaks here and for me, it’s a dud.
3. Toronto Maple Leafs

They played it safe here and while the leaf is iconic, I’m just not a fan.
2. San Jose Sharks
You already know 🦭🦈

To me, this just didn’t do it. This feels very much like a created jersey from the EA NHL franchise.
1. Columbus Blue Jackets
The old with the new. Remixed for 2022.#reverseretro

This just seems like a lazy attempt at putting a product out. Pass.
