The Rangers travel to Minnesota to take on the Wild in Minnesota’s season opener with puck drop scheduled for 8:08 p.m. EST.

New York won its opening game at home against the Lightning. Mika Zibanejad got his season off to a hot start tallying two goals on opening night. New York goaltender Igor Shesterkin stopped 25 of 26 Lightning shots in the win. The Rangers also out-shot Tampa Bay 39-26 in the dominant victory.

Minnesota opens the season with high expectations. The Wild are deep, physical and can score at will. Combine those traits with a top-end goaltender and you get a Stanley Cup contender. The Wild fell in the first round of the playoff once again last season and look for early season answers from Krill Kaprizov and company.

Minnesota took both games against the Rangers last season by 3-2 and 5-2 scores. The Wild were also very good against a tough Eastern Conference last season. The starting goaltenders are expected to be Igor Shesterkin for New York and Marc-Andre Fleury for Minnesota.
