The Panthers head to Boston for an early season divisional game against the Bruins with puck drop scheduled for 7:08 p.m. EST.
The Bruins have started the season off hot offensively. Boston has scored 11 times in its first two games and are 2-0-0 thus far. David Pastrnak leads the Bruins with four points in the early going, while A.J. Greer has notched two goals in as many games for the B’s. Boston will have a huge defensive test tonight against the high-powered Florida offense.
The Panthers are also off to a 2-0-0 start. Florida will be playing its third and final road game of its opening northeastern road trip as it has already beaten the Islanders and Sabres. The Cats’ newest addition, Matthew Tkachuk, leads the team in goals (two) and points (three) through the first two games. Florida isn’t just offense as it possesses two good goaltenders and a solid d-core.
These teams faced off three times last season with each team winning a game in regulation and the Bruins taking the deciding game in a shootout. This gave the Panthers three out of a possible six points, while Boston secured four of six points. The projected goaltender matchup tonight is Sergei Bobrovsky for Florida and Linus Ullmark for Boston.
