Fantasy Football Bold Predictions For Week Five

It’s almost Sunday and we are ready for things to get even crazier in the NFL. Last week, I correctly predicted that Mark Andrews wouldn’t finish as a top 20 tight end. That said, here are my Fantasy Football Bold Predictions for Week Five.

1). Diontae Johnson Will Have 10 Or More Receptions

We have a slightly new look at the Pittsburgh Steelers offense with Kenny Pickett being announced as the new starting quarterback, replacing Mitch Trubisky. Last year Ben Roethlisberger loved to target Johnson, however, this season, although he still sees an average of nine targets a game, Trubisky hasn’t looked at him as often. Johnson had his worst game of the season last week, only catching two of four targets. This week, I think he bounces back and has 10 or more receptions, which would be the second highest of his career and his highest in the last two years.

The Buffalo Bills are one of the best defenses in the NFL, and one of the stronger teams against wide receivers, only allowing 11.5 receptions per game to wide receivers. However, their defense continues to recover from injuries. I think this is a game the Bills let up a bit, and Diontae Johnson will be in line as the main beneficiary.

2). Elijah Moore Reaches 100 Or More Yards And A Touchdown

I’m going to be honest, Elijah Moore let me down last week after only catching three of four targets. However, on Sunday, things are going to change immensely. I think this will be a huge breakout game for him, and he reaches 100 yards and a touchdown for the first time since last season.

Elijah Moore plays the Miami Dolphins this week, who have allowed the fifth most receiving yards per game to wide receivers. This is also a game where I expect the Dolphins to lead most of the time. Zach Wilson will be forced to throw, and he will find Elijah Moore often. Call me crazy, but I think Moore has his best game of his career today. He will win people their fantasy matchups in a game where the Dolphins are a top five team in most fantasy points allowed to wide receivers.

3). Josh Jacobs Scores In The Single Digits

The Kansas City Chiefs run defense this season is on a whole different level from previous years, and it is going to make Josh Jacobs struggle Monday night. Jacobs is coming off a 175-yard and two touchdown performance against the Denver Broncos, accumulating 34.5 points in Points Per Reception (PPR) leagues, but now he faces the toughest defense for running backs this season. Teams generally don’t run often against the Chiefs, who average 16 attempts allowed per game. Teams running the ball against the Chiefs are also inefficient, averaging 3.2 yards per carry for a league low 52.2 rushing yards allowed per game.

This means that the Raiders will be expected to pass often this week against a team who struggles on defense in the passing game. I don’t expect Josh Jacobs to find the end zone this week which has been his bread and butter to reach his upside and I think he scores in the single digits this week.
