College Football is in the full swing of things and has already had some exciting games occur, as always. Entering week three, there are plenty of games that will keep fans glued to the edge of their seats. Additionally, there are always surprise games that happen during the day that nobody saw coming. It’s the beauty of college football and why many love it. Here are my game predictions for some of the biggest games in the week three slate:
#6 Oklahoma @ Nebraska
It’s a new chapter for Nebraska after cutting ties with former head coach Scott Frost. They have a chance to make a huge statement if they can upset the highly ranked Sooners. This team plays with pride, even if the results don’t always end in winning games. The Sooners are looking to make their stamp with new head coach Brent Venables. They are off to a good start but face their first test going on the road into Lincoln. These teams met last season with Nebraska playing the Sooners tough on the road. This time around, I see things going a little differently. Give me Nebraska to upset the Sooners and get people talking about the Cornhuskers with some positivity for the first time in a while.
Nebraska 34 Oklahoma 31
#12 BYU @ #25 Oregon
Autzen Stadium is going to be rocking. It always is. This game against BYU gives Oregon a chance to salvage their season after a tough opening loss to Georgia. For BYU this is the moment to show that they belong within the elite teams in college football. It’s a big chance and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. However, I see the Ducks pulling this game out in a close contest.
Oregon 35 BYU 29
#22 Penn State @ Auburn
After the meeting last season, the Tigers are looking for some revenge. The Nittany Lions come to their house this time around and will have to deal with the rowdy Auburn fanbase. Penn State has looked good thus far this season, but this will be a different kind of test. A win on the road against a team from the SEC, would be huge for their resume. The biggest question here is whether TJ Finley can be the guy for them in these type of games. I think for this week, he can be. Give me the home team. War Eagle!
Auburn 24 Penn State 20
#11 Michigan State @ Washington
Spartans and Huskies meet in the Pacific Northwest in what should be a very fun game. Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne has looked iffy against poor competition and now faces a decent Washington defense. He will be the reason the Spartans either win or lose this game. This is a game that will help boost the resume of the Spartans if they want to reach their goals. Washington is improved and I think we see it in this game. Give me the Huskies to upset the Spartans and get a much-needed statement win for new coach Kalen DeBoer.
Washington 37 Michigan State 31
#13 Miami @ #24 Texas A&M
This has the looks of the best game around the nation. Texas A&M is coming off a bad loss at home last week to Appalachian State while Miami seems to be on course for a good season. Jimbo Fischer teams typically respond after a loss and I’m not betting against it here. Give me the Aggies to get a huge win as they try to rewrite the narrative of their season.
Texas A&M 28 Miami 25
