When Logan Paul was initially brought onto the scene in the WWE, the majority of fans wanted to see nothing from him in the company. Like most celebrities who give professional wrestling a try, Paul was instantly despised by the crowd. Hearing boo’s fly in at a historic rate, the fans wanted absolutely nothing to do with the social media star.
Despite this, there was one thing that nearly everyone agreed upon. Of all the celebrities to grace the WWE ring, Paul was the most naturally gifted from a physical standpoint. Being an athlete for his entire life to then transitioning to being a fighter gave him a step ahead of the celebrity competition. Everyone knew that if there were to be a celebrity who can fit right into the WWE, it’d be Paul.
Through the two matches Paul has performed thus far in his WWE career, he’s silenced the doubters and has made a sound future for himself in the business. His combination of size, athleticism, power, and speed make him a naturally gifted entertainer in the ring. He’s had some impressive spots, some that not even trained professionals can pull off. Watching his matches, it’s clear Paul has trained beforehand to perform. It’s impossible to be this good in the ring without proper training. However, he seriously looks to be one of WWE’s brighter young stars already, despite the short sample size. The world of professional wrestling has never seen a celebrity as good as Paul in the ring. Not only is Paul on pace to be a legitimate champion down the line, but he’s ready to change the business for this next generation moving forward.
One of the bigger knocks on the company in recent years has been its inability to grow new talent. They’ve built up stars such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre to be the faces of this generation. Currently, they are building up Theory, Matt Riddle, and NXT stars such as Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes to carry on the next generation. These guys have the talent to be true mega-stars that are known worldwide, however, the product simply hasn’t been as popular since the change to a PG rating. Now, with the TV-14 rating coming back sooner than later and with Triple H taking over creatively, the product is bound to improve. This will bring back old fans who left when the product suddenly changed in the 2010s. However, the addition of Paul to the company will bring in completely new, fresh fans, expanding the audience even more.
Paul has one of the biggest celebrity fan bases in the world. He’s a social media icon, and with his massive following, a part-time career in the WWE is bound to get more people’s eyes on the screen. Inserting Paul into storylines and title feuds will draw people in, and with him being such a great wrestler already, it will help get more people to watch the premium live events when he’s on the card. Paul has also done a good job promoting his work in WWE on his podcast, “Impaulsive”. With Paul being locked in on helping the WWE grow, he will only help draw in a new generation of viewers for the next 10 years. Love him or hate him, Paul is one of the biggest signings in recent memory for the WWE.
