With the 2022 NFL schedule being released last week, it’s time to put some light on one of the new hottest teams. The Los Angeles Chargers went all in throughout free agency, acquiring players like Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson. Not to mention, having a solid 2022 draft. The Chargers will have five primetime games this year, and some key matchups to highlight are within their own division. The AFC West is going to be a bloodbath, but out of the other teams, the Chargers can realistically take the crown this year.

Key Matchups
Important games to mark on your calendars are all the divisional games, but also the Monday night game against the Indianapolis Colts and the week 14 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The biggest thing going into the 2022 season for the Chargers is to make the playoffs. After missing out last season, the Chargers are looking to cement their place in the AFC. Last year, the Chargers had one of the worst scoring defenses, but a top-scoring offense. This led to some shocking upsets but also heartbreaking losses. While focusing on defense in free agency, this Chargers team can very well be a Super Bowl contender this year. Justin Herbert will be looking to break more records, and put his Chargers at the top of the AFC West, and I absolutely think it can be done.
Record Prediction
For the 2022 NFL season, I truly believe the Chargers will make the playoffs, but also take the division. I see the Chargers splitting with the Chiefs and Raiders, but sweeping the Broncos. When it comes down to those final games, which will most likely determine their playoff fate, the Chargers will come through and win those crucial games. This year I have the Los Angeles Chargers going 12-5. They have an easier schedule in the first half of the season, and then after the bye, it gets a little tough, but definitely don’t sleep on the Chargers this year. Charger fans should be excited for this season. Fans should expect their team to be playing a few more games in January and possibly February, as this team has no more excuses.
