Through the first two games of this series, two things have been true. First off, the Suns are clearly the better team and secondly, Luka Doncic is the best player on the floor. Doncic is doing everything he can to try and help Dallas secure wins in this series, but he can’t do it alone. His teammates are going to need to step up and play better and maybe they do as this series shifts over to Dallas now. For the Suns, they have blitzed the Mavericks through two games and have made it look easy. The league-leaders are flexing their muscles and making a statement while doing so. Phoenix knows that their end goals isn’t beating Dallas, so they need to make sure they stay focused and not let up. For Dallas, they need to find a way to get back into this series, no matter what it takes. One game at a time should be the motto in the Mavericks locker room. Can Phoenix take a commanding three games to nothing lead in the series? Or will Luka Doncic will his team to a home win and get Dallas back into the series?

How Phoenix can win: Phoenix has outmanned the Mavericks so far in this series and really doesn’t need to change their game plan up much. With the games moving to Dallas, it may be a little tougher for the Suns, but this is an experienced group who has dealt with playoff road pressure before. If the team can make sure that nobody other than Doncic does anything, they will be fine. However, the Suns need to make sure they come in focused and don’t take this Mavericks team for granted because things can flip in a hurry. Momentum is a real thing come playoff time and the Mavericks are one of the better offensive groups in the league. If they catch fire, Phoenix could be in trouble. If the Suns come in and do their job, I like their chances to at least take one of the next two games in Texas.

How Dallas can win: As the series shifts over to Dallas, it’s put up or shut up time for the Mavericks. All season long this team relied on guard Luka Doncic to save them but now it’s time someone else steps up and helps him. In the first two games, Doncic has essentially done it all for the Mavericks and it hasn’t been enough to get a win. Phoenix is too good for just Doncic to score so the team is hoping they get a showing from Jalen Brunson or Spencer Dinwiddie. This team used strong defense to win games this season as well but have looked overmatched against the high-powered Suns offense. They’ll need to really focus and communicate on the defensive end to make life tough for the Suns. If they can force turnovers and get into the fast break, they may have a chance to get back into this series.

The Spread Via FanDuel:

Moneyline: PHX: (-104) | DAL: (-112)
Spread: PHX: +1 (-112) | DAL: -1 (-108)

Final Prediction: Phoenix Suns 119 Dallas Mavericks 114

-I like Phoenix to take a commanding lead in this series and put Dallas one game away from elimination. Dallas has shown no ability to slow down this Suns team through the first few games and Doncic can’t do it all. Maybe being back at home will give the Mavericks some spark but ultimately, Phoenix is the better team and will find a way to win tonight. I see a big night from Deandre Ayton to help the Suns get a huge road victory.
