With the 2022 NFL schedule being released, it’s time to start looking at a new, young rising team. The New York Jets have done a lot in free agency and the NFL Draft to be under the radar of new rising teams. Currently the New York Jets have one primetime game, and right now they can set themselves up to follow the path of the 2021 Cincinnati Bengals.

Things to Know
One thing to note for the beginning of the Jets season is their first four games are against the AFC North. The Jets new roster will be put to the test early, but their front office was smart in free agency and the draft so I wouldn’t be too worried about the beginning of the season. Their divisional games, however, are the ones to keep an eye on. After being swept by each divisional opponent, the Jets are looking to stake their claim this season. With Zach Wilson gaining some very solid weapons this season, all eyes will be on how he performs against opponents with high ranking defenses. The Jets may only have one primetime game, but that can fuel this young team where all odds are already against them. With a leader like C.J. Uzomah in the locker room, and many young players on the roster, we can expect this team to look at any motivation they have to prove all the doubters wrong. One last thing to watch is how Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner matches up against receivers like Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs, Ja’Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson. The new rookie will be put to the test early in the season, and things will definitely get interesting, but I’m sure Gardner will thrive under the pressure.
Record Prediction
For the 2022 season, the Jets are my underdog team this year. In a different article I expressed how they can be the “Cinderella team” of 2022, just like the Cincinnati Bengals were in 2021. This year, I expect the Jets to split with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. They could possibly test the Buffalo Bills, but I do not see them winning a matchup just yet against Josh Allen and company. This year, I have the Jets going 8-9, which is a losing record, but if I’m correct about them surprising everybody, it is very possible that they get 10 wins this season.
